NEW DELHI: Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi has given a controversial statement on the farmers protesting against the agricultural laws. He compared these farmers to mavalis. It has also been said that it is criminal to protest like this. The opposition is giving air to such things.

A group of 200 farmers reached Jantar Mantar in central Delhi on Thursday to protest against three controversial agriculture laws of the Centre, during the monsoon session of Parliament. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has given special permission to a maximum of 200 farmers to protest at Jantar Mantar, a few meters away from the Parliament complex, till August 9. The police have maintained a security cordon around central Delhi. The movement of vehicles is being closely monitored.
