Rahul Gandhi team met President over Lakhimpur killing
Rahul Gandhi along with other Congress Leaders met President Ram Nath Kovind today demanding the immediate dismissal Ajay Mishra over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi met President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday at Rashtrapati Bhawan demanding the immediate dismissal of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
Members who joined Rahul Gandhi were, Priyanka Gandhi, AK Antony, Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal, Gulam Nabi Azad and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary.
Rahul Gandhi after meeting President Kovind said, we have told the president that the accused’s father who is MoS home, should be removed from the post as fair probe is not possible in his presence. Likewise, we also demanded inquiry be done by two sitting judges of Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, Ashish Mishra have been arrested over the weekend for allegedly running over protesting farmers in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur district on October 3. Eight people, including four farmers were killed in the incident.
Yesterday, Congress Secretary Priyanka Gandhi along with other congress leaders attended the ‘antim ardas’ in order to pay tribute to the farmers who were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri.
