The state government has decided to open higher educational institutions from December 15. At present, only 50 per cent of the students will sit in classrooms. The state government will also issue a separate guideline soon.

A committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. The cabinet is going to open these based on the guideline of the UGC, with the approval of the committee.

The state government has already authorized the district magistrates to open coaching centres in Uttarakhand. The District Magistrates did not decide on the coaching centres due to non-opening of higher educational institutions. Now, as higher education institutions are going to open, the way of opening of coaching centres has become easier.
Dr Dhan Singh Rawat Higher Education Minister (Independent Charge) said " This step has been taken to bring education in degree colleges. The government will first give preference to students with practical subjects. Its guideline will be released in two-three. "
